The Recreation and Tourism Department is responsible for a number of recreation and tourism initiatives and activities within the Town of Oromocto. The office is lead by the Recreation and Tourism Director and staffed with a Facilities and Tourism Officer, Program/Special Events Officer and Arena/Sport Facility Officer as well as 4 full-time Recreation and Tourism maintenance staff and part-time summer casuals.
The mission of the Department of Recreation and Tourism is to ensure the availability of quality leisure time opportunities for the citizenry of Oromocto. In fulfilling this mission, the department will take a proactive role as facilitator, planner, creator, developer, provider, manager and promoter where required.
