Starting Monday, 25 August 2025, the Maritime Road Development Corporation (MRDC) will begin a rehabilitation project on the Waasis Road overpass structure. The scope of work involved in the project includes partial demolition and more. To safely perform the required work a single lane closure on the structure will be installed. The traffic Impacts:
• The structure will be closed to traffic in the southbound direction (into Oromocto West) until mid-November 2025.
• One-way traffic will be permitted to flow northbound (out of Oromocto West and towards Restigouche Rd) for the duration of the work.
• Detour signage will be installed directing traffic headed into Oromocto West to Restigouche Road, Miramichi Road, Black Watch Avenue.
• The closure will be removed for the winter season and reinstalled in 2026 from May to October.
