Council passed a resolution at its last meeting to make application to the Municipal Capital Borrowing Board to borrow $17.5 m of the proposed $90 m capital expense for the Oromocto Regional Wellness and Recreation Centre (ORSWC). As the community grows and the recreation and cultural infrastructure ages, it is time for the Town to invest in modern, energy-efficient and inclusive facilities. The ORWRC will be a multi-use facility providing modern spaces for community health care, public gatherings, community programs, educational classes and recreational facilities.
