MacDonald & Wood Street Temporary Road Closure

Please be advised that the Town of Oromocto has an upcoming construction project as part of the Town’s water & sewer system. Wood Street is scheduled for a water service line installment. This project is to encompass the intersection of MacDonald Avenue and Wood Street for the first day of work. Only limited access will be permitted on Wood Street for the second day of work.

This construction is expected to take place over a two (2) day period within the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Note that crews will begin construction by excavating a small section of MacDonald Avenue this coming Tuesday (27 August). Work will then extend to Wood Street on Wednesday (28 August) for the remainder of the installation. This initial work is estimated to be completed by the end of day on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

PROJECT WORK DETAILS:
Residents should expect road and sidewalk restrictions within the active work area in addition to dust, noise and other inconveniences during this construction. Partial Thru Traffic is permitted with access via either end of the work zone.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Drivers should expect delays and increased traffic on nearby main and side streets.
