Council, meeting in Regular Session on Thursday, 15 December 2016, approved the 2017 budgets. The $17.7 million General Operating Budget will be distributed as follows: Recreation and Culture 10%; General Government 14% Fiscal Services 19%; Public Works 21% and Public Safety 36%. The Capital Project Expenditures of $1.7 million will be distrubted as follows: Recreation and Culture 7%; Public Safety 20%; Public Works 73%. In addition, Council was able to balance their budget with no tax rate increase.
